Summer Bridge Program

TRIO is a federally funded program that supports undergraduate students by providing guidance, tools and resources that lead to academic success for first-generation, low-income and students with disabilities.

Through an intrusive advising approach, TRIO is committed to increasing retention and graduation rates, enhancing academic performance and providing students with skills that are needed to succeed in college and beyond!

Why participate in the TRIO Summer Bridge Program?

This free, weeklong Summer Bridge Program provides students with an opportunity to live in a VCU residence hall, register for classes, attend acadmic workshops and have the opportunity to become familiar with the campus community.

Students also have access to numerous services and resources, including:

  • Enhanced academic advising
  • One-on-one tutoring
  • Career workshops
  • Financial education counseling
  • Social and cultural enrichment activities
  • And more!

Program eligibility

To participate in the TRIO Summer Bridge Program, students must be enrolled at VCU, have an academic need, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and meet at least one of the following criteria:
